The radarTOUCH is a device for very large areas and can recognise over 250 touch points at the same time. However, the radarTOUCH is best suited for interactions with large gestures.

Q: What „resolution“ do I need for touch capabilities?

Since the radarTOUCH is used for very large areas and can also be installes further away from the image, it is not always easy to precisely touch very small points. A touch point should therefore not be smaller than 5x5cm.

The radarTOUCH is a rotating scanner thas uses class 1 laser to create an invisible curtain in front of an image. The touch technology is infrared laser.

radarTOUCH has been designed for multitouch applications which exceed common screen sizes. The system is perfectly suitable to realise interaction with any kind of screen or floor, transforming DV LED walls, rear projection screens, LCDs or any other surface into an interactive experience.

At its core, radarTOUCH uses an infrared laser to create an invisible curtain, defining a two-dimensional interaction space that covers a large area with a single unit. For even larger setups, multiple radarTOUCH systems can be combined using the radarSTITCHER software extension, seamlessly expanding the interactive zone. Additionally, the radarTRACK extension enables precise tracking of up to four individuals, further enhancing interactive experiences.

The radarTOUCH works over TUIO (tuio.org) which is a standard communication protocol between software and interactive hardware. Make sure that your application is created in a way that is compatible with TUIO. For many years now, software partners have created divers applications, some oft hem offering basic functions and are very simple to use.
